The Street Meowth (Read Description)

To start: Comment please. This is especially so if you fave, for your words mean a hell of a lot to me!


I know the words aren't special,
But I will say them anyway.
I'll leave my mark--I will tell them MY way!
And once you turn and notice,
I will simply walk away.
Because, sometimes, a word is just a word,
Or it speaks a thousand more.
You just have to turn and look
And think a little deeper than before.

Day 7/365 : Meowth
A little mischievous Meowth, who obviously has a home...but she loves to cause trouble on the streets. She also seems very artistic. I really wanted to create a piece with an emotional, literal message, one which every viewer can interpret differently...that's what the short poem is in this description. For me, it represents artists in general and how we feel sometimes. Artists can draw or paint the simplest or the most detailed of things, but it's how we do it our way that makes it special, even if the subject ISN'T.

Anyway, I really wanted to focus on different textures for this one, especially the state of the street itself. I used various different watercolour techniques to give the ground a filthy, dank feel to it, as its meant to be a back alleyway. ^^ The stone wall was fun to do as well.

Medium: Mixed! Mainly watercolours, with some acrylics, fineliner, colour pencils and biro.
Size: A5, so it's little bigger than my previous ones.
Paper: Water Colour Card

How long?: This took around 4 to 5 hours.
